Explanation of Numbers
-Course Rating is a number
indicating the difficulty of the course to an expert golfer (par
golfer). It is the score a par golfer should expect to shoot,
the higher being more difficult.
-Slope is a number indicating the difficulty of the
course to a bogey golfer. An average difficulty golf course
would have a slope of 113, and the higher the slope, the more
difficult the course.
Play began at Pine Needles Country Club in 1939, making it one of
the oldest golf courses in the area. The layout was designed
by Syd Clark, who later went on to design courses for Perry and
